Previously priced between Rs 55,000 and Rs 70,000, three-day packages from Hyderabad, including airfare, accommodation, meals, and sightseeing, are now available for Rs 45,000 or even lower.
Premium five-star packages, once selling for over Rs 2.5 lakh, have dipped below Rs 2 lakh, the agents said. And the prices might drop further. One-way flight tickets from here to Male are now going between Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000, down from the previous average of Rs 20,000.

Maldives enquiries down but no cancellations yet: Tour operators
Nagesh Pampati, managing director at Pampati Aeroworld Holidays in Hyderabad, highlighted a shift in demand to Lakshadweep — from receiving over 30 calls daily for the archipelago off the Kerala coast earlier to reporting no enquiries for Maldives in the past three days. Abdul Majeed Fahim, chairman of the Travel Agents Federation of India (AP and Telangana chapter), said no cancellations have taken place yet.
“This is because people book their tickets in advance, and opting out at the last minute would result in significant cancellation fees, providing only minimal refunds,” he said.
Moez Meghani, owner of Sky Brokerz travel agency, observed a departure from the usual trend as the Maldives experiences a reduction in queries during long weekends, including the Sankranti festival.
While Maldives has no fixed season, it has always been a favourite “quick getaway” among locals. “Typically, when it’s a long weekend, bookings for Maldives are common until the last day due to its reasonable cost and visa-on-arrival facility.”
