Ram idol January 17 ‘nagar yatra’ limited to complex | Lucknow News – Times of India

AYODHYA: The temple trust has modified the January 17 “nagar yatra (town tour)” of the Ram Lalla idol on the advice of security agencies. The planned procession, part of the seven-day consecration rituals, will now be confined to the 70-acre temple complex.
Although there was no official confirmation about the change from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, a source confirmed.
The security inputs indicated unprecedented interest among devotees for the first glimpse of the idol during the planned town tour and a large turnout, which the administration would have found tough to handle. After the update, trust officials held a meeting with acharyas from Kashi and decided to limit the yatra to the temple’s complex.
