Mumbai skies to roar as IAF begins its two-day aerial spectacle today | Mumbai News – Times of India


The Indian Air Force’s show of aerial prowess in city will include demonstrations by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), which usually makes formations with nine Hawk Mk-132 aircraft, and the Sarang (sanskrit for peacock), a helicopter air display team of the IAF that flies four modified HAL Dhruv helicopters, also known as Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).The only helicopter display team in the world, Sarang operated five aircraft for the first time at Air Force Day 2023
Road restrictions in place for air show
With the Mumbai Air Show 2024 scheduled to take place at Marine Drive over the weekend, city traffic police have announced road restrictions in south Mumbai. The curbs will come into effect from 9am on January 13 till 5pm the next day.

N S Road (North-bound)

  • Closed from NCPA, Girgaum Chowpatty
  • Alternate route : Ramnath Poddar Chowk (Godrej Junction), Maharshi Karve Road-Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate junction)-Marine Lines-Charni Road-Opera House N S Road (South-bound)

Veer Nariman Road

  • Closed from Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk to Kilachand Chowk (Sundar Mahal Junction)
  • Alternate route: Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk-Marine LinesCharni Road-Opera House

Barister Rajni Patel Marg

  • Closed from Free Press Junction to NS Road (exceptions: Local residents and emergency vehicles)

Vinay K Shah Marg

  • Closed North-bound from Jamnalal Bajaj Marg to Murli Deora Chowk-NS Road (exceptions: Local residents and emergency vehicles)

No parking

  • Parking will not be available from 7am on January 13 to 3pm on January 14 on following roads :
