Motorola launched yet another smartphone in the Indian market, which is the Android One powered Motorola One Power. Motorola had earlier unveiled Moto P30 in the Chinese market, which was to be launched globally in two variants, Motorola One and Motorola One Power. Motorola One Power has been introduced now in the Indian market and Motorola One must be coming in the upcoming months. Motorola One Power is launched for ₹15,999 and is going to collide head-on with phones like Nokia 6.1 Plus and Mi A2, which also belong to the Android One program.
Motorola One Power Design
Motorola finally includes a trendy looking display in its smartphone, which is the iPhone like notch design. This gives Motorola One Power a completely different look than the other Motorola phones. The phone looks premium and has unibody metal design with a matte finished metallic back. The phone also comes with one soft-case and tampered glass pre-installed over it. The phone feels slightly heavy due to its giant battery but is well balanced and does not appear to be bulky like Moto E5 Plus.
On the top of the phone, there is 3.5-mm Headphone Jack with a secondary microphone. There is a primary microphone, a speaker with Type-C USB port placed at the bottom of the phone. On the right side of the phone, there is the regular Power button and Volume buttons. There is a dedicated SIM-tray on the left side, which caters 2 nano-SIM cards with one micro-SD card at the same time.
On the back side, there is Dual-Camera setup with LED flash placed between the two camera sensors and fingerprint sensor with the Motorola logo placed near the centre at the ideal position. And the front side has the front camera and the LED flash placed within the notch with the earpiece. The front bezels are slightly thicker but do not look odd and have Motorola logo placed at the bottom.
Motorola One Power Display
This phone comes with 6.2-inch(15.75cm), FHD+ display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 2246×1080 resolution and 403 PPI pixel density. Nokia 6.1 Plus features a 5.8-inch FHD+ panel while Mi A2 has a 5.99-inch FHD+ display. So, Motorola One Power clearly has a bigger display than the other two phones with the same resolution. If you want a bigger display, then it’s an ideal choice. And the display on this phone is protected by Gorilla Glass, which is an essential thing.
Motorola One Power Processor
Motorola One Power is powered by an Octa-core processor, which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, clocked at a max of 1.8 GHz. The phone also features a dedicated GPU Adreno 509 from Qualcomm. Nokia 6.1 has the same Snapdragon 636 chipset whereas Mi A2 features Snapdragon 660, which is a better processor. But the price of Mi A2 is ₹1000 more than that of the other two, which nullifies the advantage taken by Mi A2.
Motorola One Power Camera
The rear camera on this phone is a dual-camera module comprising a primary sensor of 16MP, f/1.8 aperture with 1.12-micrometer pixel size and secondary sensor of 5MP, f/2.2 aperture with 1.0-micrometer pixel size. The primary sensor also features Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) technology, which takes automatic focusing to a whole new level. The rear camera on Motorola One Power also supports 4K video recording, which is 2160p @30fps. There is Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) dual-LED flash for low-light photography.
The front camera on this phone is a 12MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 1.25-micrometer pixel size. The front camera too gets complemented by an LED flash, which helps in capturing sharp selfies even in low-light conditions.
Motorola One Power Battery
The phone comes bundled with a giant 5000 mAh non-removable battery, which can last two days on normal usage. Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with 3060 mAh battery and Mi A2 with 3010 mAh. So, Motorola One Power is a clear winner as far as battery backup is concerned.
Motorola One Power with Android One
This phone is powered by Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and is covered under Android One banner of Google, which makes this phone eligible to receive security updates and OS upgrades directly from Google.
Motorola One Power Price
Motorola One Power is available in only one version with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage option. Motorola One Power price in India is ₹15,999 and will be sold on Flipkart. The similar version of Nokia 6.1 Plus is available for the same price, ₹15,999 whereas Mi A2 is available for ₹16,999.
Verdict
Mi A2 has a better processor than Motorola One Power and Nokia 6.1 Plus but is ₹1000 costlier than the two, thereby nullifying the advantage. But Motorola One Power has a bigger battery of 5000 mAh with a bigger screen than the other two. So, if you want a phone with a bigger screen size and better battery-backup, then go for Motorola One Power. But if you need better performance and can spend more, then go for Mi A2 powered by Snapdragon 660.
